Weather forecast for the BT Global Challenge fleet for the next 3 days, issued by The Meteorological Office at 0730 GMT on
Monday 2nd December 1996: An area of low pressure just to the southeast of the Falklands will move quickly east, resulting
in a strengthening westerly airflow during Monday. As the fleet rounds Cape Horn, and enters the open seas, the winds will
continue to increase in strength with heavy rain expected during Tuesday. The sea state and swell are also expected to
increase during the forecast period.
