Weather Forecast issued by the Meteorological Office at 0800 on Wednesday 18th December 1996.
The unsettled spell of weather continuing, with plenty of rain and showers, along with strong winds. This is all due to a series
of depressions and associated frontal systems moving eastwards. On Thursday a ridge of high pressure will extend
southwards across longitudes 160 - 180deg West, and on Friday & Saturday, this ridge will move slowly eastwards ensuring
an improvement in the weather, with winds becoming south westerly.
