Weather Forecast issued by the Meteorological Office at 0710 on Saturday 21th December 1996: A large anti-cyclone was
centred at about 47S 148W at midnight, and is expected to move away east allowing a deepening depression to cross the
south of the route, followed by another one later. Over this part of the route, the fleet will be sandwiched in between the high
and the lows, with increasing winds and high seas expected. Concert is shaping up to make an r/v with
Time and Tide and Heath Insured II is nursing rigging damage which is giving her problems on the starboard tack.
