Three day forecast issued by The Meteorological Office at 0600GMT on Monday 7th April 1997. Gale force winds are expected at first as an area of low pressure transfers eastwards. This will be followed by more rain as a cold front quickly follows from the west. The sub-tropical high will then extend a ridge from the NW enabling conditions to become generally fair, but showers will persist in eastern parts of the area where pressure is relatively low.
