Three day weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Office at 0600 UTC on Wednesday 4 June 1997.
A large area of high pressure, centred at 27N 40W, will persist with a ridge extending west-southwest towards Cuba. An area
of low pressure centred east of Florida will move northeast to be positioned at 37N 65W by midnight and 40N 57W 24 hours
later. A further low pressure area will develop over Florida on Saturday whilst high pressure over Boston and New York will
ensure fine weather for the yacht's arrival. Winds will be mostly south to southwest, but swinging easterly near the finish.
