Three day weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Office at 0600 UTC on Sunday 6 July 1997:
Low pressure will remain anchored between Newfoundland and Iceland, with a slow moving ridge of high pressure at 35
degrees south, 60 degrees west stretching northeast to the Bay of Biscay and southern British Isles. This will keep winds in a
west to southwesterly direction for the next 3 days at least. In order to catch the strongest winds you will need to head north
as quickly as possible to around 50 degrees north.
