The ridge of high pressure that extends from 40S 30W towards Brazil is expected to be cut by an active trough which will
introduce heavy, thundery showers with associated gusty winds during the next 24 hours.
Once the yachts move south of the trough winds are expected to veer to north or northeast and remain strong.
