Three Day Weather Forecast issued by the Meteorological Office at 0630 UTC on Wednesday 19th March 1997.
A deep low (968mb) near 55S 83E is moving east to be near 60S 105E by 0000 UTC Thursday. A ridge of high pressure
(1027mb) lies along 35S, to the north of the forecast area. Over the next three days areas of low pressure will move across or
just south of the area bringing strong, mainly westerly, winds. Winds are forecast to veer north or northwesterly as a series of
minor ridges cross the region. Current yacht reports are that winds are northwesterly, 30 - 40 knots.
