Three day forecast issued by The Meteorological Office at 0500 UTC on Monday 5th May 1997. An area of high pressure to the west of Cape Town will sink southeastwards but maintain a ridge northwestwards from it's centre with south to southeasterly winds on it's northern flank helping the yachts to a certain amount although speeds will become fairly light as the week progresses. Settled weather conditions will prevail throughout the next three days.
