Additional Information:
Three day forecast issued by The Meteorological Office at 0515 UTC on Thursday 8th May 1997.
A ridge of high pressure extending northwestwards along the route at present, continues to maintain mainly ligh, southeasterly
winds and fair weather apart from a few showers. However, later in the forecast period a developing area of low pressure is
expected to move eastwards across the route, enhancing the southwesterly swell.
Currently the yachts are reporting southeasterly, 10 - 15 knot winds.
