BT GLOBAL CHALLENGE WIND AND WAVE HEIGHT INFORMATION


I am here from Hareclive gazette to in terview the crew for the B.T Global Challenge. We are in Southampton to see the yachts that will be racing around the world starting on the 29th September 1996. They should return in July 1997.

We spoke to a man named Adrian Rayson. He is the Race Centre Co-ordinator. He told us all about the computersthey would be using. We asked him is we could e-mail the yachts to see what they were doing. They E Mailed back. Then we watched a video and then it was lunch time. Then we went on Group Four yacht one of the boats in the "World's Toughest Yacht Race". We asked Amanda (from Group Four) some questions.



Q.
Why are you sailing from East to West? .
A.
We are sailing from east to west so that the winds will be against us which will make the race tougher.

Q.
Do you take it in turns to sleep?
A.
Yes we do.

Q.
How long will you stay in each place?
A.
We will probably stay for about 2 to 5 weeks.

Q.
Which part will take the longest?
A.
Well it will probably be Cape Town to Boston.

Q.
Do you think you will enjoy it?
A.
Yes I do think I will enjoy it.

Q.
Who do you think will win?

A.
Us of course! (Group Four)
