Instruments
Brookes & Gatehouse are the suppliers of instruments to the BT Global Challenge fleet. The fleet will be equipped with B&G's range of Hydra 'Performance' instruments.

The system comprises

  • Full Function Display (FFD) - chart table positioned, provides the skipper with the ability to page through a sequence of pre-configured displays. For upwind sailing, boatspeed and apparent wind angle might be selected, while downwind true windspeed can be matched with apparend wind angle.
  • Two 20/20 jumbo displays - mounted in the cockpit, these displays allow the skipper and crew to view repeated information from the FFD such as boat speed and true wind angle.
  • 360 degree analogue wind unit - mounted in the cockpit, this analogue display is especially useful for the helmsman who can see at a glance the wind angle.
