Wellington, the capital city at the heart of New Zealand, is described as one of the world's most attractive cities. Situated in a beautiful harbour, Wellington offers all the sophistication of a city culture mixed with the friendliness and warmth for which New Zealanders are famous.
Wellington is looking forward to hosting the BT Global Challenge. During the six week stopover the crew will be able to enjoy a myriad of festivals and events, great shopping, performing and static arts and see some of New Zealand's heritage attractions. After several weeks of dried foods, the crews' will be able to tantalise their tastebuds amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Capital's café culture, top quality restaurants and funky bars. Crew members will also have the chance to relax and enjoy the stunning countryside, beautiful beaches and vineyards of the Wellington region of take a ferry ride across the beautiful Marlborough Sounds.
